Message from the Mayor

Hello and Welcome;

It is my pleasure, on behalf of the Board of Aldermen, to welcome you to Verona, Mississippi, the oldest city in Lee County.

Verona prides itself on preserving neighborhoods reflecting the rich and colorful past within a community, enthusiastically embracing the future.

We are the home to a healthy business community and manufacturing centers, which has a working partnership with Community Development Foundation and other local government to make good things happen. Within feet of our city limits there are two exit ramps to highway 45 that within a few miles will give you access to future Interstate 22, the super highway totally connecting Memphis, TN and Birmingham, AL. The extending of highway 76 also will connect to one of our ramps to the north.

We strongly believe Verona’s future is bright for the next generation due to the vast growth potential for our community.

For those to you who love history, Verona is blessed with a rich heritage dating back to the Civil War and the days following, the growth in the early days of the state of Mississippi. Please take a moment to read the Verona history on our Community Information Link.

The Board of Alderman, city departments and I work together as a team to insure that our residents and businesses alike receive the best services possible. Verona ultimately belongs to its citizens and we have been elected to serve to the best of our ability.

Thank you for your interest in our city. Come visit with us and I believe you will find a growing area with numerous opportunities.

Sincerely,

Bobby Williams, Mayor
